There was a time when people were judged on the basis of their Intelligence quotient (I.Q.).Well the time has come when we change the standards and start rating them on the basis of their mentality quotient.Sounds awkward??...I am not joking when i say this,we need to have a mentality quotient block too on the application forms from now on!!Well i would like too support my proposition with a real life incident of mine.Recently an objection was made to a scene of my nukkad natak(it projected the numb attitude of lawmakers towards women of special community) and when i cited a reason you won't believe what i got for an answer..."this is too realistic for the audience of this college!!" (the same nukkad has been displayed at more sensitive places by a renown group )
The above incident forced me to recheck the meaning of word mentality which as per my concise English dictionary goes as "A characteristic way of thinking" (i wonder if they read 'characteristic' as 'voyeuristic'!!!).
A large misconception which prevails in our minds are that locality develops mentality.Ironically the real image is upside down.
So why not have a test for mentality quotient and save ourself from the hustle of adjusting and complying to other's perception.On a brighter side you won't have to worry about what others would think because guess what you both are mentally competent and share the same perception...!!! ;)
very well said ratnesh.its high tym now when our so called civil society shud undergo a mentality quotient test.the problem lies in the fact that people who are suffering wid dis low "MQ" is not willing to do away wid their idiosyncrasies and come out of their cocoon.some are ignorant and some are deliberately not coming out of it.
